Aiden goes to the Hardware Store

This past Saturday I took 29 month old Aiden to the local hardware store. I needed to buy a piece of threaded rod for a project I was working on. There were three people working in the shop on Jalan Kayu which is an older hardware store with one central aisle and stuff piled from floor to ceiling and sprawaling out onto the sidewalk. In spotting little smiling mischievous Aiden, each of them independently gave him a piece of candy from the candy bowl. Wow, aren't hardware stores great places? So much stuff to check out and easy candy! William gave me the threaded rod and I set it down. Wow a 5 foot long threaded rod! Easy to grip and easy to poke people walking down the street. No No No give me that! Here have a piece of candy!
Sledge hammers on the floor? Cool all different sizes and they act like dominos when the first one goes down. more candy. Keys? in all different colors? I like the blue ones...can I have some? And gold and silver too. Pipe fittings? Plastic or steel or brass and faucets too. OK! Aiden sit on this board and sit on your hands and don't touch anything! May I hab a peet of candy pease? Finally I paid and got out of there! When we got home I asked Aiden if he wanted to go back to the hardware store and he said yes!

Bob in Singapore

This is the first time I have ever blogged. Today is as normal of a day as any other day. In fact I am doing this for the sake of JIMBO who has buggered off to China and has tried blogging by attaching a 10 mb word file to his e mail. Some of our friends like Yoka received it but I didn't. Hopefully he will see how easy this is and just do it! I wanted to see how easy it was to set up a blog and after five minutes this is the result. So no excuses Jimbo.... just go into www.blogspot.com

In case you are wondering what JIMBO looks like, here is a picture of him after he got beaten up by a titan trigger fish a few years back. We certainly miss Jimbo, Jing and Kimmy here in Spore and can't wait to go to China to see them.
